The Internet is a scary place for many people and when people try to set up an internet business they can quickly become confused how to proceed.

They may know what they want to concentrate on and decide that they need a web site but then find the HTML code it is written in a foreign langauge which they are sure they will never be able to master.

Initially it was necessary to master it but now there are templates you can chose from, some free, some of which you have to pay for. You can also find someone who will do it for you often for a small fee, particularly if you host it with them.

Once your web site is constructed then comes the question as to how you bring people to it. As more and more people build web sites you are faced with the problem as to how you can make yours so outstanding that people want to buy from you and not other people.

I have been there and made all the mistakes that everyone else makes when they start out on the internet marking adventure, for adventure it is once you get together with others and also attend conferences. It was this that set me on the right path and others say the same.

No one person can know everything and if you team with others each can help the other using their field of expertise and their experience.

There are many places you can advertise, some of which are free, some are low cost and others are expensive. The thing to do is not try to sell anything as they do not know you and they are more likely to buy from those that they have heard of.

The thing to do is to get them to give you their name and email address.

This is best placed automatically in an autoresponsder, which has previously been loaded with messages so that immediately they sign up they are sent information. This way you can build a solid relationship with them so that when the times comes that you make them an offer they will want to buy from you because you have given them so much useful information.

HOW TO BUILD YOUR LIST

To succeed in internet marketing you have to have your own list that you can send your offers to.

For this you need a good Autoresponder. I use and recommend Aweber
A small responsive list is more valuable than a large unresponsive ones.

New programmes are continually appearing, but there are also those that have stood the test of time and are still valuable places to send your adverts.

There are many different methods of advertising, i.e. safelists traffic exchanges, list building programmes, to name but a few.

The way to get people to promote to in list building programmes, such as Your Lucky List and The List Machine is to advertise your affiliate link in other places.

You can also cross refer the Traffic Exchanges you belong you with each other. Some allow a lot of URL's while others only allow one.

More and more people are setting up programmes many of which run on autopilot once they are set up. The method is that they use 2 advertising programmes to cross promote each other.
